In a birthday party, kids at age five are typically not voracious eaters, most especially there are many distractions such as fun and exciting activities, games and lots of friends around to play with. So, if you prepare an enormous array of foods, you may find a lot of leftover by the end of the party. You have the option for pre ordered foods or you can personally create your own menu.

Creating a personalized menu is more advantageous, – healthier and budget friendly. More importantly, you can have the assurance of feeding your kids and guests, some delicious, nutritious and allergen-free foods. If you have enough oven space, great idea for mini vegetarian pizzas, mini coconut macaroon bars as one of the main dessert in It’s All About Coconut recipe article, to go with slices of hotdogs and cheese cubes. They are all easy to prepare and your adult guests can pick at them also.

Other options that will never get you on the wrong side is making the traditional sandwiches. A good example is the Whole Wheat Rounds sandwich. The ingredients are so simple, in fact you have the ingredients for these sandwiches just sitting there in your cupboard shelves. The preparation is so easy, it will not take ages of your time. You can add to your menu list these Whole Wheat-Fruit Drops putting in some dried fruit mix and raisins, and the Whole Wheat-Honey Cookies where in the ingredients are exactly the same, all you have to do is incorporate or add up some honey.

Oh how exciting it will be! Aren’t they a bunch of whole-wheat goodies? Definitely your kid’s 5th birthday will be talked about by his friends even after the party is over. Most especially when their loot bags are filled with whole wheat-honey cookies and whole-wheat fruit drops, bringing home with them as party favors.

Sandwiches and cookies are more than enough of finger foods for a kiddie party. If your kid’s party has a theme, you can cut star-shaped, teddy bear shaped and other shapes you wish to. There are cookie and sandwich cutter available in the baking section of the grocery store. Or simply cut the sandwiches into two triangle shapes, and top them with jelly figures that will match your party theme. That will absolutely be cute and fun!

Add a couple of fruits-platter consisting of sliced cucumber, carrot sticks, and diced apple for a healthier option. With exciting foods, games, and activities, the kids can easily get dehydrated and will frequent the beverage station, so it will be a great idea to get ready with extras. Aside from a jug of water all set, have a jug of pineapple punch with apple tidbits that will greatly go with the sandwiches and cookies. Just make sure to avoid foods that will lead to the risk of choking most especially the kids are running up and about. If you include grapes and cherries on the fruit platter, make sure they are cut into halves.

Adults can pick on the finger foods too. For adult guests, parents and guardians, although they practically do not expect inclusions of themselves in a kiddie party, you can offer them tea or coffee that will go well with a plate of whole wheat-honey cookies. It depends on the time of the day, if the party is taking place at lunch or tea time, providing extras like pizza and whole wheat rounds sandwiches with a platter of cheese will be a nice idea and will be much appreciated.

After all that has been stated earlier in this article, and now that you are already an expert in navigating the bread pantry, it is time to build the best sandwiches and amazing cookies ever!
